"Hi to everyone who’s looking in on Tuesday Taggers this week.
My name is Angy Bullock , AKA Angy B among my crafting buddies.
I’m a mom to two grown up girls and nanna to three granddaughters and a grandson. (the two youngest are twin girls born just two weeks ago). I work full time as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a Local Primary School, where I also run an After-School Art Club.
Crafting has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My late nan was very crafty minded and my mom can put her hand to most crafts, so it was almost inevitable that I would follow suit.
I can recall sitting in the school playground at about age 7 showing other children how to make woollen octopuses and dolls, and things haven’t changed much since.! I’m still often to be found crafting on the school playground, the only difference now being that I’m 40 years older and I’m no longer the pupil.
I wouldn’t say I’m particularly skilled in any specific area but I enjoy most crafts and love ‘having a go’, trying out almost any type of crafting technique if the opportunity arises. My favourite pastimes are doodling, making cards, making and collecting ATCs and writing childrens poetry. More recently my hubby treated me to an Encaustic Iron, stylus and some waxes (much longed for items on my ever-growing wish list).
I love creating abstract art and also occasionally dabble in a bit of watercolour painting, usually miniatures.
I have been collecting ornamental Snails for years. Apart from the usual pottery, wooden, glass and metal etc species, LOL, this hobby has now led me into also collecting ATCs with a snail theme. I have over 150 ‘Snail’ ATCs to date, every one of them an individual little work of art from crafting friends.
I can’t really say I‘ve ever found a craft that I dislike. There are crafts that I would tend to avoid, such as woodwork, lacemaking or stencilling, and though I wouldn’t choose to do them, even these crafts I like to see the finished products and admire the crafters who can do them.
I believe that there is a crafter hidden in everyone. The secret is to ‘have a go’ and try out your skills. You will never know if you can do it or not, until you have tried."
And here's Angy's lovely design. I'd be thrilled to receive this as a wonderful gift from a very talented artist. Thanks Angy for your efforts this week, You've wow'd us all!
