Week 7 Give it some distress!

Well here we are at week 7 and time for another tutorial. This week we are asking for the distressed look on your projects and who is the King of distress but Mr Holtz himself!

The team discussed how we were going to do this tutorial and came to the conclusion that no-one does it like the Master himself. Michelle and I were lucky enough to meet Hr Holtz last February and watch him demo the distressing techniques so I took a chance and emailed him to ask permission to link his U tube tutorials to the Tuesday Taggers blog.
Here we are with some other crafty pals

Anyway within the day a reply came back saying we could - Brilliant! so here is the Master at work.

True inspiration dont you think? and if you need any of Mr Holtz fabby distressing products then The Craft Barn is a great place to visit! The fantastic team at The Craft Barn are sponsoring this week so have a £15 voucher for the lucky winner picked at random. A great opportunity to top up your stash and have fun with the challenge too! Dont forget to add the Tuesday Taggers link in your entry.
One extra rule for the challenge this week - please add a link within your entry to The Craft Barn too or add The Craft Barn logo to your blog sidebar with the link. If you have any trouble doing that just get in touch via the email and someone will get back to help with the technical stuff.
Heres our Fab design teams take on the distress theme!

Fabulous ideas for the wrapping paper, card and tag week with some cracking creativity going on. Crafters are always so inventive so it was great to visit each entry and see such variety not just in the end product but also how you achieved the look!

Later today we will announce the winner from last week who gets the fantastic prize from The Craft Barn. So check back tonight it could be you!!!

Onto this weeks challenge. With Fathers day at the weekend we thought it would be fun to give the Chaps in our lives a turn in the spotlight. So the challenge is to make something with a male theme. As you can see from the DT we've all had a different slant on the whole thing with making something for a man or providing some eye candy for the ladies. I wonder what your slant will be this week.
Dont forget it doesnt have to be a tag so do what works for you :0)

TT Tutorial and Challenge Week 4 sponsored by The Craft Barn

Tuesday Taggers had a quiet week last week, perhaps we were all enjoying the sun, but hopefully you'll rise to this challenge which is to produce a card, wrapping paper and card to match. To give you a helping hand this time we've produced a little tutorial illustrating a fantastic technique using those brilliant inks, pigment powders or glimmer mists we all seem to love. Of course you don't have to use this technique if you want to have a go with something else, but it'll be great if you have a go!

What's really special about our tutorial is that all the products we used making it were supplied by The Craft Barn who have also very kindly sponsored a prize for the winner of this weeks challenge - £15 to spend on anything in their product range. Click here to have a look at their crafters paradise! A big thankyou to all at the Barn!

We've made the tutorial very simple, just pause it if you want a longer look and if you've any questions email us and we'll get right back to you.

So here's the tutorial sit back and enjoy!

And here is the finished trio.

The Craft Barn have an amazing range of products, including this fantastic crafty individuals stamp, just made to fit this tag, so if you want to get hold of the products we've used in the tutorial pop over and have a look.

The rest of the DT have been busy too and have produced some superb 'pressies' (hope one of them is for me!) Have a look and be inspired

Are they not splendid? We really would love to visit you on your blog and would love to see your work on our blog as a guest designer and a spromised we have a guest designer extraordinaire this week...................

Angy Bullock

"Hi to everyone who’s looking in on Tuesday Taggers this week.

My name is Angy Bullock , AKA Angy B among my crafting buddies.

I’m a mom to two grown up girls and nanna to three granddaughters and a grandson. (the two youngest are twin girls born just two weeks ago). I work full time as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a Local Primary School, where I also run an After-School Art Club.

Crafting has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My late nan was very crafty minded and my mom can put her hand to most crafts, so it was almost inevitable that I would follow suit.

I can recall sitting in the school playground at about age 7 showing other children how to make woollen octopuses and dolls, and things haven’t changed much since.! I’m still often to be found crafting on the school playground, the only difference now being that I’m 40 years older and I’m no longer the pupil.

I wouldn’t say I’m particularly skilled in any specific area but I enjoy most crafts and love ‘having a go’, trying out almost any type of crafting technique if the opportunity arises. My favourite pastimes are doodling, making cards, making and collecting ATCs and writing childrens poetry. More recently my hubby treated me to an Encaustic Iron, stylus and some waxes (much longed for items on my ever-growing wish list).

I love creating abstract art and also occasionally dabble in a bit of watercolour painting, usually miniatures.

I have been collecting ornamental Snails for years. Apart from the usual pottery, wooden, glass and metal etc species, LOL, this hobby has now led me into also collecting ATCs with a snail theme. I have over 150 ‘Snail’ ATCs to date, every one of them an individual little work of art from crafting friends.

I can’t really say I‘ve ever found a craft that I dislike. There are crafts that I would tend to avoid, such as woodwork, lacemaking or stencilling, and though I wouldn’t choose to do them, even these crafts I like to see the finished products and admire the crafters who can do them.

I believe that there is a crafter hidden in everyone. The secret is to ‘have a go’ and try out your skills. You will never know if you can do it or not, until you have tried."

And here's Angy's lovely design. I'd be thrilled to receive this as a wonderful gift from a very talented artist. Thanks Angy for your efforts this week, You've wow'd us all!

Finally to remind you that Tuesday Taggers is a place for us all to have fun and have a go, in a safe, supportive environment, where experienced and newbie crafters can encourage and learn from each other. So don't be afraid to have a go! and this week you could win the voucher to choose £15 worth of lovely goods from The Craft Barn too!

To win this fantastic prize post your entry on your blog along with a bit of blurb promoting our challenge and a link to The Craft Barn, and leave a link on Mr. Linky The Winner of last weeks challenge will be chosen at random and posted tomorrow evening so check back to see if you are going to be a future TT Guest Designer.

Thanks for all your entries,

x Michelle

Come on you Taggers

Cant help but notice today that you're all shying away from this one. Perhaps in our enthusiasm for all things craft, we set a real big challenge, but don't forget, Tuesday Taggers is not a competition, just a group of supportive virtual friends who are there to encourage each other to have a go and experiment and hopefully just have fun!

We've been thrilled to see the fabulous work of crafters, both practiced and newbies, and would love to come visit you this week, so come on, take a big breath, rifle something out of the recycling bin, stick some paper on it, give it a lick of paint and let us come see what you have created.

Love and Hugs

Onto week 3

You truly amazed us with your fabulous bold and bright entries for week 2 - isn't it fab seeing what other people can do with the same theme. We have loved visiting your blogs so thanks so much for sharing your art with us x

The winner from last weeks challenge is Cindy Ashplant.
Contact us via the Tuesday taggers email and find out about your guest designer spot! Well done Cindy x

And onto week 3's challenge.
For this week we thought you could change something normally thrown away and make it into a piece of art. We have chosen a clothing label but please don't feel you should be under restriction if you have something you would love to alter! Change it using paints, paper, inks, embossing powder anything you can think of that will transform this piece of rubbish into a work of art.

Here's some inspiration from our fantastic design team members.
